Marilena & Jack: A wedding on Ios Island

Marilena and Jack travelled from London, where they live, to the beautiful island of Ios, the bride’s place of origin. The ceremony was performed at the all-white picturesque church of Saint Irene and was attended by friends and relatives who travelled from afar to be present at the most important moment in the lives of Jack and Marilena.

For the decoration of the church, they adopted a meadow style, based on white and green with touches of yellow and purple.

The main entrances of the church were decorated with garlands of lisianthuses, lavender, straws and chamomile.

The bride arrived at the seaside church on a fishing boat and followed the white-washed path, decorated with fragrant herbs, rosemary and lavender, and wrapped with burlap and lace, to reach the church entrance.

The bridal bouquet consisted of white David Austin roses, lavender, straws, chamomile, baby’s breath and white lisianthuses.

The bride’s girlfriends and bridesmaids were holding white lisianthuses and chamomile.

The wedding mascot, underscoring the traditional element of an island wedding, was the sweet donkey wearing a wreath of meadow flowers.

The reception was held at the dreamy Luxury Liostasi Boutique Hotel, which afforded a most spectacular view of the blue sea.

The welcome table, prepared by Ms. Despoina Denaxas with delicious sweets and candles, was adorned with the garlands from the church and the couple’s wedding candle arrangements.

The round tables were decorated with a round mirror, candles, jars with chamomile and a latte bottle with a lavender bouquet.

The bride conceived the Kick off your heels! Dancing shoes party that followed after the ceremony.

It was a wedding we will never forget!
